Development of the property began in August 2020 and was completed in April 2021. Buildakit wanted to build a high performance, low maintenance dwelling to offer to the open market. Architect Andrew Morgan of ADM Design drew up the plans inspired by the  homes in the neighboring area. Traditional features such as local stone and slate roof sits alongside this energy efficient highly insulated timber frame home.

Technical Specifications

This generous 4 bedroom, 1507 square feet/140 metres home achieves an impressive           2.71 in airtightness and an EPC rating of B.  With underfloor heating downstairs an Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5 kw air source heat pump was chosen for its low carbon emissions, energy savings and resale value.  Being a Mitsubishi  Partner we proudly install Mitsubishi Air Source Heat pumps in every home we build.  An abundance of large windows including two prefabricated circular bay windows made in the Buildakit factory were installed together as part of the kit.  The main bathroom was fully constructed off site in our factory using a steel frame pod.  The pods are fully finished including white goods,  fixtures and fittings, plumbing, tiles and lighting.  Entrance to the ensuites were via pocket doors. Also installed on kit day was a Buildakit handmade timber staircase.

An Energy Efficient, eco-friendly, low energy, sustainable home comes with a 10 year LABC structural warranty.

“One of the other attractions to the property was that we knew by buying it we were doing our bit to help the environment by not using a traditional gas boiler.”
